SASKATOON, SK – Great Western Brewing has announced the release of a new year-round beer, as well as an overhaul of the packaging for its line-up of core brands.
Great Western Lager (5% abv) is described as follows:
Created by Brewmaster Keith Armstrong, new Great Western Lager is proudly brewed in Western Canada with 100% malt and no adjuncts. This smooth, refreshing 5% lager is highly drinkable and has only 120 calories—less than other 5% mainstream beers. Great Western Lager is a testament to how supporting local truly does taste better than your everyday mainstream lager. Try this great tasting new beer for yourself. You’ll be glad you did.
The cans and cases of the Lager feature a new look that is also rolling out across all of the brewery’s flagship products:
Great Western’s new look celebrates the Prairies. The can design includes familiar settings and landmarks from across the province—from prairie fields and northern forests to sparkling lakes and grain elevators.
The cases feature eye-catching branding and bold lettering on solid backgrounds that reflect the refreshing new colours of Great Western’s core beer varietals: GW Pilsner, GW Light, GW Classic and new GW Lager. The lake and river on GW Light are printed using temperature-sensitive ink. When the lake and river turn blue, this indicates to the consumer the beer is cooled for maximum enjoyment.
This new packaging truly embodies what Great Western beer is: great tasting beer that is both brewed in Prairies and enjoyed in Prairies.
Great Western Lager and the new look cans of other Great Western beers will be available soon at beer retailers in Saskatchewan and Alberta.
