CALGARY, AB – Wild Rose Brewery has announced the release of a new beer in collaboration with Winnipeg Jets defenceman and Calgary native Josh Morrissey that is “aimed at raising awareness and promoting positivity around mental health.”
Sunday Fuzz Peach Hefeweizen (5% abv) is described as “a fruit-forward German wheat beer filled with real peach puree that offers a strong stone fruit aroma, with a tart edge and finish courtesy of a hint of apricot puree.”
A portion of the proceeds sales of Sunday Fuzz, as well as associated merchandise created by Local Laundry, will be donated to the Glass Half Full Foundation, a new initiative and charity started by Morrissey to benefit mental health organizations.
“My fiancée, Margot, and I were both born and raised in Calgary and are thrilled that the Glass Half Full Foundation’s first official venture is taking place in our home city alongside two amazing local brands,” says Morrissey in a statement. “Through our Foundation, we aim to support various organizations who are actively making a positive impact on the mental health and wellness of Canadians. Our hope is that this collaboration will continue to promote conversation, raise awareness and help to remove the stigmas associated with mental health.”
Sunday Fuzz will be officially launched on Friday June 25th, and will be available at the Wild Rose taproom and beer retailers throughout Alberta. The beer and limited edition Sunday Fuzz t-shirt can also be preordered now via the Wild Rose website.
