Propeller Brewing Releases Barrel-Aged Black Forest Sour

HALIFAX, NS – Propeller Brewing has announced the release of the latest in its occasional series of limited edition barrel-aged beers.

Black Forest Sour (5% abv):

A fruit-forward kettle sour with a medley of various berries, aged in bourbon barrels for over a year to pick up subtle notes of oak, bourbon, and a hint of smoke. After extended barrel aging the beer further conditioned on fresh vanilla beans and cocoa nibs. The combination of fruit, vanilla and cocoa is reminiscent of Black Forest Cake with extra richness layered from the barrel.

Black Forest Sour is available now at all three Propeller retail shops and the brewery’s online store, and soon at Bishop’s Cellar in Halifax.
