TORONTO, ON – Burdock Brewery has announced the release of a new collaboration with local Italian bakery Forno Cultura.
Gold Straw Italian Bread Pils (5.5% abv):
Gold Straw is a lightly dry-hopped pilsner brewed with pilsner malt (course’) and numerous loaves of day-old Pane Pugliese bread from Forno Cultura that were tossed into the mash (made with 100% organic semola rimacinata di grano duro from Altamura in the Puglia region of Italy). The goal with this beer was to make an “Italian Pilsner” – essentially a hoppy pilsner (inspired by the Tipopils of Birrificio Italiano). Dry-hopped with two of our favourite lager friendly hops (Tettenanger, Strata), Gold Straw is lightly bitter, bready and has a fruity/spicy/herbaceous (in that order) aroma that will please your pilsner-hungry nostrils.
Gold Straw is available now at the Burdock retail store and online shop, and at Forno Cultura.
