CALGARY, AB – Cabin Brewing has announced the release of a new beer in memory of a friend of the brewery who passed away earlier this year.
Yo! Salted Dragon Fruit Wheat Ale with Amchur and Lemon (5.3% abv):
Yo! was brewed to remember our good friend Yolanda Loo, who died unexpectedly in February. To her friends, she was Yo, an amazing human who was determined, focused and so helpful, with a laugh and smile that would light up a room. We miss her terribly.
The beer we made is as fun and vibrant as Yolanda was. We know she would approve! It has a rich pink colour, a full wheat body and pronounced acidity from the lemon and amchur (a powder made from dried green mangoes that is typically used in Northern Indian cooking to provide citrus notes and acidity).
As you sip this beer, consider taking a moment to say “yo!” to those in your life that you haven’t spoken to for a while. You never know how much of a difference that one short word will make.
Yo! is available now at the Cabin Brewing retail store and online shop. $1 from every can sold, and from every glass served in the taproom, will be donated to a memorial fund set up in Yolanda’s name to support the Calgary Health Trust’s Mental Health Greatest Need Fund.
