EDMONTON, AB – More than a year after it was announced, Edmonton’s newest brewery will be opening its doors tomorrow (August 25th) in the city’s historic Street Railway Substation No. 600.
Irrational Brewing has been founded by Nathan Marculis and Wafa Veljee, a husband and wife who took possession of the 1938 Art Deco building last summer, and have spent the last 14 months building out the brewery and taproom.
With Marculis serving as head brewer, Irrational will be launching with an inaugural beer line-up that includes Phrasing Rye Saison (5% abv), Ethereal #001: Bohemian Pseudo-Pilsner (4.8% abv), Juturna Lime Gose (4.2% abv), Pale Bear Northwest Pale Ale (5.2% abv), Imagination Drifting Hibiscus Saison (4.8% abv), and Opacity #001: New England IPA with Columbus & HBC-586 (6.5% abv).
Irrational Brewing is located at #109 10643 124th Street in Edmonton, and will be open Wednesday to Friday from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Saturday from 12:00 noon to 10:00 PM, and Sunday from 12:00 noon to 6:00 PM. For more details, see the brewery’s website and Facebook page.
