VANCOUVER, BC – Powell Brewery has announced the release of beer to “raise funds for a family friend and amazing woman named Jewel.”
For Jewel IPA (6.2% abv) is described as “a hazy and super smooth IPA with flavours and aromas of sweet citrus, vanilla, berry, and tropical fruits.”
The brewery also provides more details about its namesake:
Jewel was born with quadriplegic cerebral palsy 20 years ago and has been living everyday with severe muscle spasms and pain which drastically affects her quality of life. Her mother, Ivana, and two sisters have been her primary caregivers and their lives revolve around Jewel’s needs. As Jewel grows older her symptoms are getting worse and providing care for her is getting harder and harder.
This is where we can all help, by raising funds for Jewel’s surgery and after care therapy treatments. Having access to these will enable her to live with much less pain which will dramatically improve her quality of life.
For Jewel IPA is available now the Powell Brewery taproom and store, and for delivery via BeerVan. All proceeds from its sales will go to help Jewel and her family, and those able to help more are invited to donate via GoFundMe.
