ST. JOHN’S, NL – YellowBelly Brewery has announced the release of this year’s edition of its annual holiday seasonal beer.
Mummer’s Brew 2021 (6.7% abv):
This year’s Mummer’s Brew is a Milk Stout – also known as a cream stout. It is creamy indeed. Heavy bodied by design, the lactose and the oats enhance a certain smoothness in this big and beautiful stout. It presents with a deep roast character which is immediately lifted into dark chocolate at length from the use of Pale Chocolate Malt and assisted by a small amount of sweetness from the added lactose. Reminiscent of a mug of dark hot cocoa. Both hop bitterness and alcohol warmth rise in the finish. Given its depth and complexity, it may evolve well over the coming months and years if stored at cellar temperatures.
