BARRIE, ON – Redline Brewhouse has announced the indefinite closure of its restaurant and taproom effective today (December 24th).
As reported by Simcoe.com, the closure is due to a variety of factors, including “COVID-19, increased supply and food costs, a pending bump in the minimum wage, and uncertainty over the timeline of pandemic restrictions and government relief measures.”
“We’re still a production brewery,” says owner Kari Williams in the article. “That’s who we are, first and foremost. The restaurant and taproom side, we knew this probably a month ago, but thought we’d hang in. But we cannot do this under these circumstances.”
Approximately a dozen kitchen and serving staff have been laid off due to the closure, with five employees being kept on to run the brewery and retail shop.
