HALIFAX, NS – Garrison Brewing has announced the upcoming release of its contribution to Brew For Ukraine, an international campaign to raise funds to support the people of Ukraine.
The initiative is being spearheaded by Pravda Brewery in Lviv, which became famous for its shift from brewing beer to producing Molotov cocktails in the early days of the Russian invasion.
“We’ve all watched with horror as tanks rolled across the border into independent Ukraine, and cities underwent relentless bombing,” said Brian Titus, President of Garrison Brewing, in a statement. “We’ve also watched the people of Ukraine respond with unbelievable strength and determination, and the world come together in solidarity and support.”
Along with dozens of other breweries around the world, Garrison has brewed a batch of Putin Huylo (7% abv) – Ukranian for “Putin is a dickhead” – which is described as “a strong golden ale brewed with European and North American malts and hops for a medium body and exquisite hop flavours.”
Putin Huylo will be released later this month in a limited run of 2000 x 650 ml bottles which will be available for $10 a bottle at both Garrison locations. 100% of the profits will go to registered charities supporting humanitarian efforts in Ukraine.
