HAMILTON, ON – MERIT Brewing has announced its participation in an international brewing collaboration that aims to “create a safe and discrimination-free beer industry, especially for women, BIPOC, and LGBTQIA+ individuals, through inclusive environments and transparent policies.”
Brave Noise Pale Ale (5.4% abv) has been spearheaded by Brienne Allan, who triggered a #MeToo-style reckoning last year when she opened up her Instragram account to stories of harassment and discrimination experienced by those in the craft beer industry.
Brave Noise is being brewed by more than 200 breweries around the world, with each brewery including a QR code on the label that links to their Statement of Values or Code of Conduct, and donating the proceeds to an organization that supports the mission of the collaboration.
MERIT collaborated with Ren Navarro of Beer. Diversity. on a version of the beer, and describe it as follows:
Brave Noise is a crisp, refreshing pale ale brewed with Sabro and Mosaic hops for an easy drinking blend of tropical flavours, popping with tangerine, stone fruit and hints of berry with a mellow, restrained bitterness and well-rounded juicy finish.
Brave Noise Pale Ale is available now at the MERIT taproom, retail store, and online shop. Proceeds will be donated to SACHA Sexual Assault Centre.
