Blindman Brewing Releases May Long DIPA, Passionfruit & Strawberry Sour and Foedered Lager: Munich Dunkel

LACOMBE, AB – Blindman Brewing has announced the return of an annual favourite, plus the release of two brand new beers.

May Long DIPA (8.8% abv):

A new tradition is forming at Blindman: a beloved seasonal beer is kicking off the start of the best season of the year: camping season. And since we’ve come to half-expect snow and cold on May Long Weekend, we’ve got a beer that will warm you up if it’s cold, but will go down surprisingly smooth if it’s hot. This double IPA is aggressively hopped with Idaho 7, Vic Secret, El Dorado, Simcoe and Cryo Ekuanot hops to give it a delicious blend of citrus, tropical fruit and earthy flavors. This ain’t no hazy juice bomb, she’s crystal clear and properly bitter for the IPA lovers of the world.

Passionfruit & Strawberry Sour (4.5% abv):

This fruited kettle sour will transport you to the orchard in your mind: a place where if you dream it, you can taste it, and you’ll be dreaming of ripe passionfruit and freshly picked strawberries. As you’ve probably come to know about us, we don’t make puckeringly sour beers. Think of this gem as a fruit beer with a hint of tartness, approachable enough for someone who might fear the word “sour” yet with enough subtle acidity to satisfy any sour beer aficionado.

Foedered Lager: Munich Dunkel (5% abv):

Our brewing ancestors started brewing this German dark lager in the 1500’s, and we’ve brewed this one as a tribute to them. We age our rotating lager series in a giant oak fermentor called a foeder which imparts a distinct, though subtle, woody character to the beer itself. Back then all beer was fermented in wooden vessels, so this is our way of paying homage to the folks that created this style of beer that we hold so dearly. Reddish brown with a white fluffy foam head, with notes of molasses, caramel, vanilla and oak, we hope you enjoy drinking this beer as much as we enjoyed making it for you.

All three beers will be officially released next week, and can be pre-ordered now via the Blindman online store.
