BURNABY, BC – Dageraad Brewing has announced the release of a trio of limited edition beers to mark the brewery’s 8th anniversary.
Enology Series No. 01: Syrah Saison (8.6% abv):
The first in what we hope to be an innovative and delicious line of hybrids, Enology No. 01 blends the flavours of a saison with the dark fruit and vinous notes of a syrah. We aged a saison in red wine and cognac barrels with brettanomyces and lactobacillus, blended it, and left it to rest on syrah grape pomace in December of 2021. It took on a beautiful hue and a delicate red wine character – a fitting launch to a new series and an elegant drink to enjoy as the days grow longer.
Entropy No. 13: Apricot Sour (6.1% abv):
There’s a nuance to apricot that lends itself to a barrel-aged sour. It has a subtle bitterness that provides structure for the fruit notes and tangy sour character. This will be the third time we’ve returned to this recipe – it’s undeniably a favourite of ours – and the apricot is particularly vibrant this year. This is an edition you won’t want to miss out on.
Randonneur Saison (6.4% abv):
Randonneur embodies so much of what we love in our favourite beers. It’s refreshing and flavourful, delivering on classic lemon and pepper saison notes with a balanced noble hop aroma. True to our predilections, it’s highly carbonated for a vibrancy that wakes any palate, and a finish that is dry and clean – precisely how a saison ought to be. It was one of our earliest seasonals, and we relish every opportunity to make it. We last brewed it for our anniversary in 2020, optimistic that it would be brewed once again under better circumstances. We may not be out of the woods, yet so to speak, but we’re thrilled and honoured to finally, once again, raise a glass of Randonneur with you in person this weekend.
