GRAVENHURST, ON – Sawdust City Brewing has announced the release of this year’s edition – or more accurately, editions – in its annual series of ales brewed using a wild yeast strain foraged in the Limberlost Forest near the brewery.
Limberlost Kriek (6% abv):
Pouring a deep garnet, this funk forward sour ale is brimming with delicious aromas and flavours of cherry, oak and sweet malt. A blend of two year old puncheon aged Flanders Red rested on Ontario cherries and our bourbon barrel aged Ol’ Woody, this complex ale is a flavour explosion just waiting to be explored.
Limberlost Wild IPA (6% abv):
Pouring a dusty gold, this hop forward sour ale is bursting with delicious aromas and flavours of dank citrus, oak and funk. A blend of 2 year old puncheon-aged Gnarnia and fresh Gnarnia, then dry hopped with Nelson Sauvin, Sabro and Elixir. We then further aged it in stainless for two weeks before can-conditioning it for another five months.
Both beers are available now at the Sawdust City retail shop and online store.
