HALIFAX, NS – Garrison Brewing has announced the release of three German-style beers especially for Oktoberfest.
Dunkel Breakin My Heart (5.2% abv):
This brew is a deep, well-balanced German dark lager with notes of chocolate and coffee with an exceptionally smooth finish. Light in body with clean malt flavours, Dunkel Breakin My Heart is perfect for warm days that transition to cool nights.
SchitzenGiggles Märzen (5.7% abv):
“Märzen” meaning “March” in German is linked to tradition. This style of beer was traditionally brewed in the spring (hence “March” in the name), and aged throughout the summer. SchitzenGiggles is a beautiful copper-coloured lager, with balanced malt and light hop bitterness.
HefeWeizen (5% abv):
This traditional unfiltered Bavarian wheat beer is golden and hazy with a little spice, notes of banana and clove on the nose. When poured, this brew is dominated by a billowy white head. A delicious, easy-drinking wheat beer with classic German flavours.
All three beers are on tap now at both Garrison locations, and will be pouring at Halifax Oktoberfest, taking place at the Halifax Beer Garden on the waterfront from September 25th to October 2nd. HefeWeizen can also be found in cans at Garrison’s retail shops and online store.
