CALGARY, AB – The Alberta Small Brewers Association (ASBA) is getting set to launch Alberta Beer Week 2022 – running from Friday October 14th to Saturday October 22nd – with the release of this year’s version of the annual Unity Brew collaboration beer.
Unity Brew 2022 Dry Hopped Lager was brewed at Medicine Hat Brewing with representatives from more than 25 Alberta breweries and industry partners on hand during the brew day. It’s described as follows:
Focused on using ingredients primarily from Alberta, the 2022 Dry Hopped Lager features malt from Rahr/BSG, RedShed, Origin and Hogarth. Eclipse Hops from Hops Connect Canada add depth to this recipe, while Krispy yeast made it possible in a shorter time frame.
“Alberta Beer Week is meant to celebrate everything that makes Alberta beer great,” says Blair Berdusco, Executive Director of the ASBA, in a statement. “Our industry continues to utilize ingredients from right here in Alberta. This small circle has created a community which continues to grow as craft beer increases in popularity.”
The anchor event of Alberta Beer Week is the Alberta Craft Brewing Convention & Beer Awards, taking place October 18th and 19th in Red Deer. Other events including tap takeovers, beer releases, discounts and more will be happening at breweries and bars throughout the province.
