CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Non-alcoholic beer company Libra – a division of Upstreet Brewing – has announced the release of a new “soulful, savoury and artisanal” ale in collaboration with singer-songwriter Serena Ryder.
Lavender Sage Cream Ale (0.4% abv) has been created to mark Ryder’s four-year sobriety journey, and is described as “a balanced cream ale, with floral notes of lavender and sage, slight honey character, and a gentle finish.”
“I know firsthand the feeling of being an outsider at shows drinking water while everyone else is having alcohol,” says Ryder in a statement. “Non-alcoholic options allow people like me to enjoy something special on a night out just like everyone else. I wanted to add my flair to the non-alcoholic lineup and chose lavender and sage because they bring peace and relaxation into my life, and that’s what I wanted this beer to embody.”
Lavender Sage Cream Ale is available now on the Libra website for delivery across Canada. A portion of sales will go to support ArtHaus, a “multi-media and music incubator that provides wellness and professional development programs accessible to emerging artists”.
