CALGARY, AB – Cabin Brewing has announced the return of a beer that offers notes of “fire, spice and all things nice”.
Luna & Fuego Mexican Hot Chocolate Stout (11.6% abv):
If you’re new to Luna & Fuego, here’s the drill… We start with an imperial stout and add cocoa, cinnamon and vanilla, then spike it with three types of chilies – sweet ancho, smoky chipotle and tangy guajillo – before moving to oak barrels to age. This iteration was aged for eight months in Basil Hayden Bourbon Barrels.
What to expect? You’ll pick up aromas of dark chocolate, dried fruit, brown sugar, caramel and all the usual aromatics you’ve learnt to love in a cup of richly spiced Mexican hot chocolate. The cocoa and chili marry perfectly to create a decadently sweet and lingering spice heat. It’s impossible to tell where the warming alcohol begins and the chili heat ends. Did we mention it’s smooth? Ridiculously so.
Luna & Fuego is available now at the Cabin taproom, retail store, and online shop, and select beer retailers in Alberta.
