SYDNEY, NS – Breton Brewing has announced the release of a beer to mark International Women’s Day.
Waves Rise Tiny Hazy Ale (3% abv) takes its name from a line in the Hymn to Ninkasi, the goddess of beer and brewing. It’s described as follows:
This brew is light, refreshing, and mildly citrusy, with a floral, tropical and a stone fruit aroma. With a light malt base and moderate bitterness, the hops really shine bright. We are excited to have used the Yakima Chief Pink Boots hop blend in this beer. The purchase of this hop blend directly supports the Pink Boots Society, an organization created to assist, inspire, and encourage women and non-binary individuals in the brewing industry.
Waves Rise features artwork created by brewery staff member Lauren Musycysn, and is available now at the Breton taproom, retail store, and online shop. $1 from each can sold will be donated to Every Woman’s Centre, a nonprofit organization that aims to “promote, develop, and support the enhancement of women’s lives in Cape Breton communities.”
