LONDON, ON – After five-and-a-half years of operating in London, Ontario’s Hyde Park neighbourhood, Curley Brewing Company has closed its doors.
Founded by Nigel Curley and Kelsey Watkinson, Curley Brewing opened in late 2017 at 1700 Hyde Park Road as a “craft beer café” focused on vegan beer and food. It soon moved down the street to 1634 Hyde Park Road, and released its first beer in October 2018.
A brief statement about the closure was posted on Instagram and Facebook, and while it doesn’t give a reason for the shutdown, an article in the London Free Press last month noted that a residential tower is being built soon on the site of the brewery.
The statement also says that “this is not the end, just the beginning of something new,” suggesting that the brewery may reopen at a new location in the future.
Further details will be reported here on CBN if or when they become available.
