CRANBROOK, BC – A new brewery and taproom offering “beer, bowling, and games” is now open in the city of Cranbrook in southeast British Columbia.
Encore Brewing has been established by Jesse Roberts and Fred Williams, and gets its name from the fact that it is the second food and drink project from the pair, joining their popular Fire Hall Kitchen and Tap in downtown Cranbrook.
Located in the former Juniper Lanes Bowling Alley, Encore has been in the works for almost two years, and officially opened this past weekend with space for close to 300 customers.
The brewery’s initial line-up from head brewer Brendon Hayward includes two core brands – Liftoff Lager (4.8% abv) and Five Pin Hazy Pale Ale (5% abv) – plus Alpen Glow Sea Salt & Guava Sour (5.5% abv), Peachy Keen Hazy IPA (6.8% abv), Terms & Conditions West Coast-ish IPA (6.2% abv), and 2nd Breakfast Smoked Rye Stout (5.4% abv). All are available on tap, and several can also be purchased in cans to go.
The food menu overseen by chef Blaire Paulhus includes tacos, pizza, nachos, and “other nifty nibblers to tantalize your tastebuds,” and as promised in the opening paragraph, there are eight bowling lanes and an assortment of arcade games for patrons to enjoy.
Encore Brewing is located at 1400 4th St. N. in Cranbrook, and is open seven days a week from 11:00 AM, closing at 11:00 PM on Sunday to Thursday, and 1:00 AM on Friday and Saturday. For more details, see the brewery’s website and pages on Instagram and Facebook.
