KINGSVILLE, ON – The Grove Brewing Company has announced the release of a beer that was brewed in collaboration with other local female brewers, winemakers and distillers.
Maizanic Maibock (7% abv) is a strong lager aged in white wine barrels, with label artwork featuring Hildegard Von Bingen, the 12th century abbess and polymath who wrote the first recorded reference to using hops as a preservative in beer.
The beer was brewed on International Women’s Day by a group that included Tammy Joho (brewer at The Grove Brewing Company); Vanessa Pillion (brewer at Kingsville Brewery); Aisllin Hendrikson (distiller at Clear Lake Brewing); Alex Mullaly (assistant brewer at Northwinds Brewery); Ellie Gurdebeke (brewer at The Beerded Dog Brewing Company); and Allison Christ (winemaker at Colio Estate Winery).
Maizanic Maibock is available now at The Grove Brewing Company, Kingsville Brewery, Sprucewood Shores Estate Winery, and The Beerded Dog Brewing Company. Proceeds will go to Pink Boots Society Canada in support of their mission to help women & non-binary folks advance in the industry through education.
