SHERWOOD PARK, AB – A new brewery and taproom that aims “to provide an inclusive space that welcomes all beer drinkers, from novice to nerd to veteran” is opening this weekend in Sherwood Park, a community in Alberta’s Strathcona County.
Manual Labour Beer Co. is described by owners Richard and Nicole as follows:
Manual Labour Beer Co. is a microbrewery on the edge of suburban and rural life, in the heart of Strathcona County, Alberta. We celebrate the hard work you complete everyday, from pushing the lawnmower, to finishing an honest day’s work, to doing the dishes, to simply putting on a pair of real pants! We produce a wide range of beer styles, from light lagers to dark stouts, so that every individual can find a beer they love.
The brewery is launching with four core brands – Take a Lap Lager (5.1% abv), My Wife’s Red Ale (4.3% abv), Hey Guy Hazy IPA (7.1% abv), and Born Ready Brown Ale (5.1% abv) – and four seasonal offerings – That’s Gold British Golden Ale (4.6% abv), Dogs Are Barking Dark Ale (5.1% abv), Three on the Tree Imperial IPA (7% abv), and Treat Yo’self Champagne Cider (5.9% abv).
All will be pouring in the taproom, and cans of most brands will be available in the brewery retail store and select local beer retailers.
Manual Labour Beer Co. is located at 510 – 280 Portage Close in Sherwood Park, and will be officially opening its taproom and retail store tomorrow (Saturday May 20th). Business hours will be 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Wednesday to Friday, 12:00 noon to 9:00 PM on Saturday, and 12:00 noon to 5:00 PM on Sunday.
