Henderson Brewery and RUSH Opening Taproom at Toronto Pearson International Airport

TORONTO, ONHenderson Brewing and Canadian rock band RUSH have announced that are partnering with airport food service company HMSHost to open a collaborative taproom at Toronto Pearson International Airport.

Henderson Brewery @ YYZ will be a 28-seat bar and retail shop located in the pre-security area of Terminal 1, and will be decorated with original items from RUSH’s recording and touring archives. It will be accessible to domestic and international passengers, as well as non-travelers who can easily visit the airport via the Union Pearson Express train, the inspiration behind the name of Henderson’s Pearson Express IPA.

“What could be more appropriate than our Rush Canadian Golden Ale having a home at YYZ?” said Geddy Lee of RUSH in a statement. “The opening rhythm of our ‘YYZ’ song was inspired by the morse code for YYZ airport. We would get so excited to see YYZ on our ticketed bags as it meant we were coming home. Even though the song is instrumental, it’s about our city, where we came from, and how good it is to come home.”

“When the opportunity presented itself to not only work closely with HMSHost and YYZ, but also offer another incredibly unique experience with RUSH, I think it took me approximately five seconds to say, ‘Yes, please!’” added Adin Wener, co-owner of Henderson Brewing. “I can’t wait for it to open and create the ultimate welcome-to-Toronto experience!”

Henderson Brewery @ YYZ will be opening later this year. For more details, see the full announcement.
