EDMONTON, AB – Eight breweries in north-central Edmonton have announced the launch of Hop Pocket, a new initiative to promote their area as a craft beer destination.
Seven of the participating breweries – Arcadia, Asymmetrical, Brewsters, The Growlery, Irrational, Odd Company, and Polyrhythm – kicked off the partnership this past weekend with a Cask Relay event, featuring exclusive cask beers pouring at each location over the course of three days.
A second Hop Pocket event will be following in July, with Campio Brewing joining the fold.
“We wanted something that highlights the beer that’s being made in Edmonton right now,” Growlery co-founder Kevin Danard told CTV News last week.
“We’re really hoping that this creates a collective and gets people engaged, exploring and supporting local businesses,” added Chelsea Tessier, co-owner and head brewer of Polyrhythm.
Hop Pocket is the second brewery collective to be established in Edmonton, joining Happy Beer Street which was formed in 2021 by seven breweries located on and around 99 Street south of Whyte Avenue.
