Bellwoods Brewery Releases Chunk Imperial Stout and Dry Stout

TORONTO, ON – Bellwoods Brewery has announced the release of two stouts from opposite ends of the style and strength spectrum.

Chunk Imperial Stout (10% abv):

Aged in bourbon barrels for over a year, and dosed with a trio of cacao, hazelnut, and vanilla, CHUNK is an Imperial Stout that is heavily inspired by chocolate confections. And because we tend to be enthusiastic when it comes to adjuncts, it is also one of the most heavily augmented, concentrated, and rich sensory experiences one can seek out in the world of Ontario beer.

Is it thick? It’s thick. Velvety? Soo velvety? A fleeting simulation of life on planet Choconut where entire townships are crafted from the fragrant insides of a vanilla pod? Also yes! Consider it hyper-adjuncted, or ultra-condensed to the point where we can no longer confirm any remaining water content.

Dry Stout (4.5% abv):

In the world of stouts there are big, rich doozies, quaffable, zippy doo-dahs, and everything in between. Dark doesn’t automatically mean heavy, and our new Dry Stout is here to prove just that.

With simple roasted malts, sub 5% ABV, and a roasty, dry flavour profile, our Dry Stout is surprisingly easy drinking and ready to change your mind about the seasonal designations of dark beers. Balanced notes of coffee, dark chocolate, with a firm hop bitterness.

Chunk and Dry Stout are available now at both Bellwoods locations and the brewery’s online shop.
