Old Flame Brewing Company Acquires Two Blokes Cider

PORT PERRY, ON – Old Flame Brewing has announced that it has acquired Two Blokes Cider, a farm-based craft cidery situated less than 10 kilometres from the brewery’s original Port Perry location.

Known for its award winning flagship Hex Press Dry Cider (6.1% abv) and other specialty brands, Two Blokes was founded in 2015 by Matt Somerville and Andy Paul, both of whom will be remaining as advisors to support the ownership transition.

“Our two respective brands have so much in common,” said Jack Doak, President and Founder of Old Flame, in a statement. “We share our love of community, tourism, brand experience, and our mutual belief in the growth of Port Perry and the Township of Scugog. We are thrilled to add Two Blokes Cider to our line-up of award-winning craft beers and showcase the Somerville Farm as a unique destination.”

“We have always believed our brand and approach to hospitality could connect with diverse communities and guests,” added Richard Park, Old Flame’s Vice President of Operations. “That’s why we set out to create approachable recipes and inspired spaces to bring people together to begin with. Now, we are thrilled to be able to share Two Blokes Cider with our communities across our taprooms, LCBOs, restaurants, and bars. At the same time, we are equally excited to invite our fans to come experience the Two Blokes Cider farm, to continue making memories worth remembering.”

Old Flame Brewing currently operates brewery and taproom locations in Port Perry and Newmarket. A third location in Toronto’s Distillery District was open for several weeks last winter, and will be relaunching soon following final renovations.
