TORONTO, ON – Great Lakes Brewery has announced the release of a simply named seasonal ale, and a slightly mysterious collaboration.
Summer Ale (4.5% abv):
Summ’r ales, summ’r not. This one is. This one is full of surprises. Although you may typically associate rice with lagers, we just went ahead and made this golden ale with red rice, lemon & ginger. And although you’d think that using red rice would make an amber ale, it didn’t. In fact, it’s probably the least red beer ever. Enjoy!
Lockbox XPA (5.2% abv):
We recently brewed a couple of beers with Town Brewery – one there, one here. The visiting brewery for both collabs had the task of bringing “mystery hops” – a selection of hops that is secret from everyone but the guest brewers. We have no idea what hops are in Lockbox XPA. Can you guess?
The two new beers will be released today at both Great Lakes Brewery locations and the GLB online store.
