WHITBY, ON – Town Brewery has announced the release of a new beer created in collaboration with Great Lakes Brewery.
Lock Box XPA (5.6% abv):
Both GLB and Town have been known to brew an XPA and due to their relative scarcity we thought we would collab on a home and home version of an XPA. Their head brewer Lackey suggested they’d bring the hops for our brew day and not tell us what they were – they covered the labels and simply marked “Whirl Pool” and “Dry Hop”. To this day, we still don’t know what hops we used in our beer.
We completed the home and home by doing the same thing for them when we went to Toronto to brew. Both beers are ready for y’all and now it’s up to you to guess what hops are in them. Ours is tasting great – definitely nice and crisp with huge hops flavours and aromas. We get mostly dank citrus, tropical papaya and mango as well as some candy-like vibes going on without it being sweet. It’s a real delight and we’re excited to share it with you!
Lock Box XPA is available now at the Town Brewery taproom, retail shop, and online store.
