HALIFAX, NS – 2 Crows Brewing has announced the release of a new collaboration with a visiting brewery, and the latest in its Jamboree series of fruited sour ales.
Fashionable People IPA (7.2% abv):
A few weeks back, the Canadian Brewing Awards were in Halifax. As a result, a whole lot of cool beery people were in town including the lovely fashionable folks from The Establishment Brewing Company out of Calgary, AB. So obviously we had to brew something with them.
Fashionable People is a big ol IPA. Featuring a mash of Pilsner, flaked oats, flaked wheat, wheat malt, and chit malt, and mash hopped with Cascade. A bit of bittering from Columbus, and a huge hopback charge of Idaho 7 and Centennial. Fermented with Verdant yeast, and dry hopped aggressively with Solero and experimental hop HBC 1019. Massive massive hits of mango, fuzzy peaches, orange zest, and passion fruit, this beer is a seriously juicy and fuzzy little number.
Jamboree Watermelon & Kiwi Sour (4.8% abv):
Featuring the same base of local pilsner malt and wheat malt plus flaked wheat and flaked oats, we soured this beer with lacto plantarum and fermented with Escarpment Lab’s Ebbengarden Kveik. After fermentation, we added a significant amount of kiwi and watermelon puree and allowed the beer to carbonate naturally. Super lush, super fruity, super tropical.
Both beers are available now at the 2 Crows taproom, retail store, and online shop.
