Bellwoods Brewery and Queer Songbook Orchestra Release A Beer They Made Dandelion Lager

TORONTO, ON – Bellwoods Brewery has announced the second release in a series of collaborative beers with “the goal of raising awareness about trans, non-binary, and gender-fluid folks working within the beer industry.”

A Beer They Made Dandelion Lager (4.7% abv):

A Beer They Made is a collaborative project started by our very own Ren Parr (they/them), and this year we’ve teamed up with the Queer Songbook Orchestra, a 14-piece professional chamber pop ensemble dedicated to utilizing story and song to express, honour, and elevate 2SLGBTQ+ experience.

The beer we made together takes the form of a highly drinkable Lager made with hand-picked dandelions. In the words of Brewer Jamaar, “It’s very easy drinking, but all the typical hop character you’d expect from something like a pilsner is actually coming from the dandelions. It’s grassy and floral with slight acidity”.

A Beer They Made is available now at both Bellwoods retail stores and the brewery’s online shop. A release party featuring two sets by the Queer Songbook Orchestra will be taking place at the Bellwoods Brewpub on Wednesday July 12th, with tickets available online.
