UXBRIDGE, ON – Just over a year after it was heavily damaged by a tornado, The Second Wedge Brewing has announced plans for its official Grand Reopening celebration.
Taking place at the brewery this coming weekend (July 14th to 16th), the festivities will include the opening of an exhibition of tornado-themed art by Lynne McIlvride and photography by Tracy Walker on Friday evening; a ribbon cutting on Saturday at 12:00 noon; shirt printing by Just.Jess.Arts and live music and entertainment on Saturday and Sunday; plus guest beers and collabs on tap, giveaways, specials, and brewery tours throughout the weekend.
The Second Wedge co-founders Joanne Richter and Rob Garrard have designed a special graphic for the reopening that reconfigures the brewery’s trail sign logo into a stylized tornado, and have had it printed on shirts, hats, and glassware along with the slogan “Back Together”.
“It’s our way of commemorating this highly unusual and challenging year,” the partners said in a statement. “There’s a bit of ‘Humpty Dumpty’ humour in it, but it also shows that we and our community will forever be affected by what happened, and that coming back together is the antidote to the pain we’ve been through.”
