EDMONTON, AB – Explore Edmonton has announced that beer from several local breweries will be available at licensed events taking place at the city-owned Edmonton Convention Centre and Edmonton EXPO Centre.
Under a new agreement with official beer partner Labatt Breweries, products from five Alberta craft breweries – Alley Kat, Campio, Jasper, Sea Change, and Troubled Monk – will be offered alongside Labatt brands at events, including this year’s edition of K-Days which launched last Friday.
“We had to try to understand what are the possible ways we could still have a a partnership with a company like Labatt and still facilitate the support for local products,” said Explore Edmonton’s Arlindo Gomes in an interview with CBC News. “We were able to accomplish that.”
“We’re really excited [to] not only to showcase our product, but to have other local craft breweries involved and just showcase the scene and the amazing products that the Edmonton craft beer scene have to offer,” added Campio general manager Ray Burton.
