Four Dogs Brewing Opens Taproom in Calgary

CALGARY, AB – Three and a half years after launching as a contract brewery, Four Dogs Brewing has announced the opening of a bricks-and-mortar location in Calgary’s Victoria Park neighbourhood.

Four Dogs was founded by Vince Schaeffer, and is named in honour of his four special needs rescue dogs – Friday, Zen, Sasha and Elvis – who all passed away during 2020 and 2021.

The Four Dogs taproom opened its doors earlier this month, and features the brewery’s four core brands – Friday’s German Pointer Pilsner (4.7% abv), Zen’s Great Dane Stout (4.7% abv), Sasha’s Rhodesian Ridgeback Red Ale (5.25% abv), and Elvis’ Burnin’ Love Salted Lime Lager (4.4% abv) – along with several small batch beers and other beverages.

As expected from the name, the new Four Dogs taproom and patio is exceptionally dog-friendly, including a water bowl at the base of every table, an alcove under the bar designed to serve as a dog bed, and mini-egg swing chairs for smaller dogs.

Four Dogs Brewing is located at 1205 1 St. SW in Calgary. For more details, see the brewery’s website and Instagram page, and profile article at Avenue Calgary.
