Banded Peak Brewing Guardians of the Ice Series Continues with Mount Castleguard Cold IPA

CALGARY, AB – Banded Peak Brewing has announced the latest in its series of beers supporting Guardians of the Ice, a non-profit organization with a mission to “inspire dynamic environmental stewardship on behalf of the rapidly retreating Columbia Icefield (Canadian Rockies) and its watersheds, leading to a low-carbon future for the whole planet.”

Mount Castleguard Cold IPA (5.3% abv) is the sixth of twelve beers in the series, each of them named after a different peak in the Icefield. It’s described as follows:

Redefining the IPA style, Mount Castleguard brings bold citrus hop characteristics to the sessionable refreshing taste of a lager! Crafted from locally sourced barley malts and a touch of flaked corn, this light bodied brew allows a blend of Cascade, Strata, and Sultana hops to shine. Fermented cool and clean on a neutral lager strain, gentle pine and pineapple noted provide a depth to the bright lemon and zesty grapefruit flavours.

Mount Castleguard Cold IPA is available now at the Banded Peak taproom, retail store, and online shop, as well as select beer retailers in Alberta. $2 from every four-pack sold will be donated to support Guardians of the Ice.
