Buffalo Rouge Brewing Now Open in Kelowna

KELOWNA, BC – A new brewery and taproom from a couple who are well established in the local food community is now open in Kelowna.

Buffalo Rouge Brewing has been founded by Liam Mitchell and Crystal Cain, the owners and operators of popular vegetarian food truck The Wagon.

The pair hatched plans to open a brewery early last year, acquired a location on August 1st, 2022, and opened for business almost exactly a year later.

While they are still a few weeks away from pouring their own beers, collaborations with several other local breweries are currently on tap. And as expected given the owners’ other business, the food menu is completely vegetarian, with items including “calamari” made with hearts of palm, Reuben sandwiches with seitan subbing in for the corned beef, and cauliflower wings.

Buffalo Rouge Brewing is located at 105-1111 Gordon Drive in Kelowna, and is open Wednesday to Saturday. An official grand opening will take place on August 11th and 12th.
