NIAGARA-ON-THE-LAKE, ON – Final term students in the Niagara College Brewmaster and Brewery Operations Management program welcomed some special guests last week to celebrate a recent big win in a competition for brewing schools in North America.
The results of the 2023 edition of the U.S. Open College Beer Championship were announced last month, and the Niagara College Teaching Brewery was named Grand National Champion thanks to all five of its entered beers achieving medal placements.
Competition directors Tom Streeter and Carla Gesell-Streeter were at the College on August 10th to deliver the awards in person, including Gold for Echoes in the Taproom Belgian Dubbel and Hulk Roggan Rye Beer (which also tied for Best In Show); Silver for Taylor Rd. Saison and Te-Toiset Bois Belgian Tripel; and Bronze for T’Weiss as Nice German Wheat Ale.
