CALGARY, AB – Cabin Brewing has announced the release of its latest small batch ale.
Belgo Pop Belgian Pale Ale (5.5% abv):
Well before there was hazy this, and thiolized that, and DDH this, that and the other thing, the OG beer innovators in Belgium were facing a conundrum; the brewery juggernauts in England were releasing pale ales en masse to compete with European lagers that were capturing the hearts and palates of beer-lovers across the continent, including in Belgium. Belgium’s answer to this pop beer invasion? The Belgian Pale Ale. Easy-drinking, but with just enough of that quirky Abbey yeast character to remind you this is truly a Belgian beer.
Belgo Pop Belgian Pale Ale channels that pop movement with a beer that has a complex malt sweetness, with fruity notes of candied orange, pear, light white pepper and lychee. It finishes dry, is mighty refreshing, and is a trend – albeit one from long ago – that we can definitely get behind.
Belgo Pop is available at the Cabin taproom, retail store, and online shop, and select beer retailers throughout Alberta.
