LACOMBE, AB – Blindman Brewing has announced the release of a new beer to mark another year in business, and a mixed pack featuring a quartet of foeder-aged lagers.
8th Anniversary Belgian Tripel (7.7% abv):
Some of our favorite work trips we’ve ever taken were to Belgium, where we traded brewing techniques with some of the finest brewers in the world. We celebrate these great experiences every year by brewing what we call “Boozy Belgians” for our anniversary releases. Smooth, luxurious, complex and special, this Tripel is one of our brewers’ favorites and we think it could be one of yours too.
Foeder Lager Mixer:
You probably know this by now, but a foeder is a large wooden vessel used for fermenting and conditioning alcohol, often beer. Picture basically a giant upright barrel with stainless steel valves and pipes attached to it. In the earliest days of beer, it all came from wooden tanks which would always impart an oaky, woody character into the flavor of the liquid it holds. To honor this process and this ancient flavor, Blindman had a foeder made specifically for aging classic and international styles of lagers. Our brew team has crafted four uniquely delicious beers for one very special mixed pack: an Amber Lager (5% abv), a Maibock (8.2% abv), a Bavarian Schwarzbier (5.2% abv), and a Rye Lager (4.8% abv).
Belgian Tripel and Foeder Lager Mixer will be available at the Blindman Brewing taproom and online shop, and select beer retailers in Alberta.
