NORWICH, UK – The winners of the World Beer Awards 2023 have been revealed, and 14 Canadian beers won the World’s Best award in their respective style categories.
Several thousand beers from around the world were entered into the competition and judged blind in local and regional heats before the final worldwide winners were judged and awarded in London late last month.
This years style winning beers from Canada included:
- World’s Best English Style Brown Ale – Amsterdam Brewing Downtown Brown
- World’s Best Wood Aged Beer – Amsterdam Brewing Double Tempest
- World’s Best Flavoured Stout & Porter – Indie Alehouse High Horse
- World’s Best English Style IPA – Banded Peak Brewing Summit Seeker
- World’s Best Session IPA – La Voie Maltee La Malt-Avenante
- World’s Best Amber/Dark Kellerbier – Village Brewery Best Run
- World’s Best Dark Lager – SNO Microbrasserie Nordik SNOlynx
- World’s Best Light Lager – Stanley Park Brewing Electro Lager
- World’s Best No & Low Alcohol Lager – Lagabière Ta Blonde Sans Alcool
- World’s Best American Style Pale Ale – Microbrasserie Trois Lacs La Juicy
- World’s Best Framboise – Microbrasserie La Souche Franc Bois D’Hiver
- World’s Best Gose – Microbrasserie Moulin 7 Neige D’Été
- World’s Best Lambic – Indie Alehouse Elemental Magic
- World’s Best Grape Ale – Indie Alehouse Vine Song 6
Amsterdam Double Tempest also took the award for World’s Best Flavoured Beer, a grouping that includes World’s Best Wood Aged Beer and eight other style categories; and Trois Lacs La Juicy was named World’s Best Pale Beer, a grouping that covers World’s Best American Style Pale Ale and 16 other categories.
