TORONTO, ON – Something In The Water Brewing has announced the release of a new beer inspired by a classic cocktail.
Atlantic Kon-Tiki Painkiller IPA (6.9% abv):
In 1956 a young Frenchman new to Canada looked to recreate an ocean crossing on a handmade raft dubbed Atlantic Kon-Tiki. The original Kon-Tiki crossed the Pacific to the Polynesian Islands. This time, Henri Beaudout and three friends left Halifax Harbour in May 1956. After 88 days they landed in Falmouth, UK, as instant celebrities.
Atlantic Kon-Tiki Painkiller is themed after the Tiki cocktail, Painkiller – i.e. a piña colada with orange. We built a big but lightly coloured malt bill, then hit it with lactose, orange juice, pineapple juice, and over 30lbs of coconut cream. It also features that same beautiful hop from Tortuga IPA, and it really does taste like a cocktail!
Atlantic Kon-Tiki Painkiller is available now at both Something In The Water locations, and the brewery’s online shop.
A launch party featuring three limited Tiki cocktails and a Polynesian sandwich special will take place at the Toronto taproom today (September 8th) starting at 5:00 PM.
