Alberta Beer Week 2023 Launches With Release of Unity Brew 2023 West Coast IPA

CALGARY, AB – The Alberta Small Brewers Association (ASBA) has officially launched Alberta Beer Week 2023 – running from Friday October 13th to Saturday October 21st – with the release of this year’s version of the annual Unity Brew collaboration beer.

Unity Brew 2023 West Coast IPA (6.5% abv) was brewed at Alley Kat Brewing in Edmonton, with brewers and other staff from various Alberta breweries and industry partners on hand during the brew day. It’s described as follows:

This is a hop prominent brew with notes of lemon, clementine and sweet fruits. A burnished gold, slight off-white head featuring a mild haze will pour into a pint glass beautifully. This year, the label on the Unity Brew can is a paper label, an example of the industry’s awareness of the impact on the recyclability of aluminum cans. Four versions of the can are available, including four environmental impact statements from the industry.

The anchor event of Alberta Beer Week is the Alberta Craft Brewing Convention & Beer Awards, taking place October 17th and 18th in Calgary. Other events including tap takeovers, beer releases, and more will be happening at breweries and bars throughout the province.

Today also sees the official launch of six new itineraries on the Alberta Ale Trail, featuring breweries and other attractions in Edmonton and Northern Alberta.
