VANCOUVER, BC – Container Brewing has announced the release of a limited edition beer that celebrates this year’s hops harvest.
Fresh Coast Fresh Hop IPA ( ):
Fresh hop season is a once-a-year opportunity to experience hops at peak freshness! Harvest season arrives, and the brewing begins in lockstep with the harvest. Brewers take advantage of this short window to utilize hops plucked from the vine mere hours before. We are lucky in the lower mainland that we can get those little green guys off the vine and into production in just a couple of hours – so no unscheduled stops for coffee, gas or anything else. Straight to the brew kettle – we don’t want to lose a minute of the fresh hop goodness.
This year, we used an experimental hop – X4109, created by cross-breeding Fuggles, Bullion and Comet hops and grown in Abbotsford by Bredenhof Farms. X4109 offers hints of tropical fruit and citrus along with traditional hops aromas of earthy pine and fresh herbs. We’re not shy about our love for classic West Coast IPAs, and this brew combines elements of some of our favourites like Forgotten Trail, Forty Footer and Gold Coast.
Fresh Coast is available now at the Container taproom and retail store, and next week at select private beer retailers in British Columbia.
