GATINEAU, QC – Almost 15 years after it opened in the former Hull Waterworks building in Gatineau, Les Brasseurs du Temps has closed its doors.
As reported by CBC News, the brewery and restaurant was shut down following service on Saturday October 28th.
Co-owner Alain Geoffroy told CBC that the closure was due to a combination of factors including lingering effects of COVID-19 pandemic and the state of the economy. “To make sure to retain our staff we had to increase our salaries,” he said, and added that “going to a restaurant [is] becoming a luxury that people [can’t] afford anymore.”
