Annex Ale Project Releases Polar Beer Kölsch

CALGARY, AB – Annex Ale Project has announced the release of a new beer in partnership with the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo.

Polar Beer Kölsch (5% abv):

Introducing Polar Beer, a small-batch Kölsch brewed in celebration of the arrival of the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo’s newest resident polar bears, ‘Baffin’ and ‘Siku’ and the opening of Wild Canada at Calgary Zoo on December 1st. Polar Beer is true to style, using Kölsch ale yeast fermented at cold temperatures, resulting in a brilliantly clear beer. Crafted with exceptional Alberta barley, this beer highlights Origin Malting’s Pilsner Malt, grown just steps from our Head Brewer’s house outside Chestermere. The German noble hop Tettnang adds a touch of bitterness and aromas of pear, white wine, and subtle spice notes.

Waste Land is available now at the Annex taproom, retail store, and online shop. Partial proceeds from its sales will go to support efforts to help protect species at risk through the Wilder Institute’s Brian Keating Conservation Endowment.
