CARNAVON, ON – A month after Boshkung Brewing announced a change in ownership and merger with Truss Foodworks – now rebranded as Boshkung Smokehouse – the brewery has revealed that its original location in the small community of Carnarvon will be closing at the end of the year.
Boshkung was launched in 2014 in the lower level of upscale restaurant Rhubarb, with the location being dubbed Boshkung Lakeside in recent years due to being situated on the shore of Mirror Lake.
In the closure announcement, Boshkung’s new owners Mathew Renda and Mike Rae said that they “acknowledge the significance of this establishment and express their heartfelt thanks to Rhubarb Restaurant for their collaboration in providing an exquisite food menu at the Lakeside location and for graciously hosting Boshkung Brewing Co. over the years.”
The three other Boshkung locations – Boshkung Social brewery and taproom in Minden, Boshkung Smokehouse at the base camp of Haliburton Forest, and the seasonal Smoke On The Water restaurant and bar at Kennisis Lake Marina – will remain in operation.
The final day of business for Boshkung Lakeside at 9201 Highway 118 in Carnarvon will be December 31st, 2023.
