TORONTO, ON – One of Ontario’s smallest breweries has announced that it will be closing its current location later this month, but the owners hope to keep the brand alive.
Laylow Brewery was launched in 2016 in the kitchen of a bar and restaurant on Toronto’s College Street, and has produced many house beers for the hip hop inspired establishment over the years.
An announcement posted on social media, owner Daniel Boniferro wrote that Laylow has been “a labor of love, a dream brought to life, and an artistic haven in the heart of this incredible city for the past seven years,” and that despite the impending closure, “Laylow is not saying goodbye; we’re merely turning a page and have our sights on some big plans for 2024…but we could use your help!”
That help is being solicited via a GoFundMe campaign that aims to raise $30,000 which will go towards “pop-ups, new product launches, community collaborations and other initiatives that continue to bring this city together in the most authentic way that we know.”
The final day of business for Laylow at 1144 College Street will be Sunday, December 24th. For more details, see the Laylow pages on Facebook and Instagram.
