Blindman Brewing Releases Haskap Fruited Sour and Jean Turn 6 Saison

LACOMBE, AB – Blindman Brewing has announced the release of two new limited edition foeder-aged beers.

Haskap Fruited Sour (7.48% abv):

Here we are playing with boundaries. One boundary is the line between beer and fruit wine. This beer, because of the very high fruit dosing rate and the brilliant colour of the haskap berries, might make you think it is a fruit wine, but in reality, it started as a foeder-aged brett saison. It was then allowed to ferment under pressure on a large quantity of haskap berries from Rosy Farms just near Alcomdale, Alberta. If you like our Dwarf Sour Cherry (the most award winningest beer we’ve made by far) then we think you’d like this one as well.

Jean Turn 6 Mixed-Ferment Saison (7.75% abv):

Jean is the name of one of our French oak foeders. We refer to the number of times we have filled and emptied each foeder as a ‘turn’. That’s how we came up with the quite simple name for this beer. It was in foeder Jean, and is from the sixth turn. Jean Turn 6. Each turn is a little different, say, with a different recipe going in, or different yeasts for example. This particular turn was so tasty, we had to release it all by itself.

Both beers are available now in the Blindman taproom, retail shop, and online store, and select beer retailers in Alberta.
