OTTAWA, ON – Dominion City Brewing has announced the release of the 2023 vintage of a potent winter seasonal, which this year is being offered in two variant editions.
Between Two Evils Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout with Coffee (10% abv) and Between Two Evils Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout with Coffee, Coconut & Vanilla (10% abv):
We worked with Lulo Coffee on both releases to find varieties that would pair well with this rich and robust beer. Lulo’s approach to coffee is usually to roast it very lightly and let the delicate and more vibrant side of the bean come through without a ton of roasted flavours.
We landed on two coffees: Nasa Community Blend and La Mesa Blend combined – think big flavours of sweet cherry, chocolate fudge, and molasses with a really balanced level of acidity, and subtle roast.
You can find a straight coffee blend as well as a second release featuring toasted coconut and Tahitian vanilla elevating this beer to new heights of creaminess and featuring an intense and fruity fragrance, with notes of tobacco and rum.
Both versions of Between Two Evils 2023 – plus a limited quantity of the 2022 vintage – are available now at the Dominion City retail store and online shop.
