KITCHENER, ON – Short Finger Brewing has announced the return of an award-winning sour ale.
Anchor Shoes Dark Sour (6.3% abv):
Anchor Shoes is a barrel aged dark sour aged on Ontario cherries that won the Gold Medal for fruit beer at the Canadian Brewing Awards… some year that happened before Covid (time is elusive). It spends 2 yrs in 2nd use barrels and then another 6 months on Ontario sour cherries (350g/L) before being lightly conditioned in can (FOR THE FIRST TIME).
Anchor Shoes is very similar to the flavour profile of a Flemish bruin. Tons of sour cherry notes that finished clean. Hints of plum and red currant mix in with the cherry notes. A light vanilla and brown sugar note in the back end. Beautiful Beer – for those that love sours!
Anchor Shoes will be released tomorrow (December 7th) at the Short Finger retail store and online shop.
